Champions for Children

Each year Children’s Advocacy Centers of Mississippi is proud to receive nominations for the Judge Thomas H. Broome Champion for Children award. This award honors those in the state who support the enhancement of multidisciplinary teams, local child advocacy centers, and best practice approaches to serving child victims and their families.

The Judge Thomas H. Broome Champion for Children Award honors the legacy of Judge Broome, a dedicated advocate for Mississippi children.  As a Rankin County, Mississippi Youth Court Judge, Judge Broome championed the needs of children for many years, advancing the child advocacy center movement across the state.  The Judge Thomas H. Broome Champion for Children Award recognizes those individuals who share his commitment to making Mississippi a safe and caring place for children.

In 2025, we were delighted to present the Judge Thomas H. Broome Champions for Children Award to Riley Herrin and the 15th Circuit Court District Attorney’s Office. The One Loud Voice Conference gives us the opportunity to publicly thank those who go above and beyond to ensure the protection of children in Mississippi.
